The bikes can go faster than that by pedaling harder or going downhill. This speed limit is The Law and helps to keep your ride safer. The US Laws are really not that bad compared to the European Laws that do not allow throttle operated E-Bikes and assisted speeds over 15Mph. "How long will the battery last?" There are many factors that influence the range and life expectancy of the Lithium Manganese battery. The Li-Mn batteries we sell are among the safest and have the best energy density currently available. Over time the battery will lose its capacity. As the owner, the way you treat your battery greatly determines its lifespan. The most important factors to take into account are; - power consumption use/riders weight/road conditions - battery care and charging cycles. Therefore the life expectancy of the battery will vary per rider. In the future, you will be able to find brand new replacement batteries on our accessories page. Refer to the BionX User Guide(Page 19 to 21) for more information on how to get the most out of your battery. "Do I have to wear a helmet riding an East Coast E-Bike?" Check your local laws and regulations! Coming from a country where people generally don’t wear helmets on their bicycles, I am not going to tell you to wear a helmet. It is good to feel and be safe and if a helmet helps you with that then please do wear one. Instead I would like to point out that you are required to wear a helmet if local laws tell you to and to consider wearing a helmet in all other cases. "Do you sell the bikes with the PL-500 Watts?" No we don’t. Let me tell you why. The BionX PL-500 motor kit has less torque and shorter operational range then the PL-350. In order to gain the 6 Mph extra speed the system sacrifices power at lower speeds. We offer FREE Shipping for all accessories & parts purchases. Depending on the size and weight of your order we will ship using USPS or FEDEX Ground. E-Bikes and larger packages are shipped using FEDEX Ground. Tracking information, for FEDEX shipments, will be sent to the email address used for payment. Smaller orders sent through USPS will receive shipping notification without a tracking number. When you place multiple orders with us we will combine orders for shipment when possible. Currently we only ship to the continental US. Shipping & Handling charges will be applied for E-Bike shipments. A 5% sales tax will be added during checkout for shipments in the State of Maine. Online payments are processed using PayPal so there is no need to send us your financial information. The customer account for your order will be automatically created after your payment is processed. There is no need to register a username and password on our website. All products that can be ordered through this website are in-stock and in new condition unless clearly specified otherwise. If you have questions about your order or require changes to your order, contact us immediately through our support page BionX Electric Propulsion System & Parts The battery is covered against manufacturer’s defects for a period of 1 year. Other electrical components come with a 2 years manufacturer’s warranty. Montague and SwissBike Folding Bikes & Components Montague Corporation has stated that its limited manufacturers warranty on the frame might not be applicable for electric bikes. All other bicycle components are considered standard bicycle parts and can be serviced or replaced at your local Bike Shop and are not warranted against occurring defects. We support all owners of East Coast E-Bikes through our Owner Support page. As our customer you have the right to expect your purchase to arrive without defects and in the condition as described. All our products are brand new unless clearly stated otherwise. We take pride in picking and assembling and checking your order and if you find something wrong with your purchase upon delivery please notify us as soon as possible so we can find a solution for the problem. We will accept undamaged returns initiated within seven days of delivery. We only process returns with an RMA number. This means you will have to contact us before sending the return shipment. Only undamaged returns qualify for a full refund minus a restocking fee of 10% and applicable shipping costs. |
